A Name and A Blessing

Today was a big day (the first of many) in Baby Brody's life. Our families came from out of town (not too far) & spent the morning /afternoon with us. Today was Baby Brody's blessing day. For my non-member friends, it is like a christening except there is no water involved ;). We are so grateful & thankful that they made the effort to be here & a part of his special day. We know 9 am church is early, especially when traveling 2 (plus)hours. Thank you for coming! John & other men holding the Priesthood participated. My Dad, John's brother Ruben & some friends from church were in the circle. It is where they take the infant (Brody) in their arms & give him a name & a blessing which he will be known by on the church records. Brody was not named after anyone if particular. My brother Brandon had a best friend named Brody. John has always liked the name, so Brody it was! His middle name Shore is my Moms maiden name & we thought is sounded good with Brody. Brody Shore. There are several grand kids in the family that have Shore as their middle name. We figured, with four boys, we should have at least one boy with the family name. This sweet, calm, mellow baby of ours cried during the entire blessing. Out of all of our boys, he was the only one to cry during his blessing. I swear our good friend Scott must have been pinching him (I am totally teasing). The blessing was beautiful despite the microphone issue & Brody crying. After church, everyone came back to our house for lunch. It was a nice day. My nephews Malakai & Kannon are staying with us for a few days. We are excited to have them here & are looking forward to the next few days. I will have 6 boys in the house. It is going to be an exciting few days. Stay tuned!

Good Friday

The boys would tell you that this was a GOOD Friday. Soccer camp has come to an end. They had a great time. 5 days of soccer camp was heaven for Tanner & Carter. They both felt like they learned a ton. They have been practicing all of their new moves. They even wanted to sign up for another week. They were able to attend camp with some good friends of ours, Kelsey & Jake. After camp today we let them run wild @ a new water park in town. Can you say "FUN"! Water squirts from every direction at this park. They had water wars & just had a great time running thru the water. Our "Carter" funny for the day was when he looked at Jake's soccer jersey (which is blue when dry) and says "blue & water makes black". He was commenting how how Jake's shirt was black when he got it wet. I don't think his little mind ever shuts down. Always thinking. We hope your Friday was a good one.
If you're in the neighborhood tomorrow, Green Tangerines is having a garage sale this weekend. There will be lots of stuff @ great prices. They open @ 9am. I just might see you there. Happy Shopping!

Exhausted

Okay, I am so exhausted that I'm not going to even try to fiddle with my pictures. Sorry!! They are all over the place. Just got home from the scrapbook store about a 1/2 hour ago & am waiting for laundry to finish. The boys have soccer camp in the morning & all of their soccer socks are STINKY! I figured I would update the blog. Tonight was the VIP event @ Green Tangerines. It was lots of fun. We had 52 ladies rotate thru ten tables & in the end they went home with a fun little mini album. This was our first VIP event. I think for he most part it went really well & next time it will be even better. We can work out all of the kinks. Hopefully all of our manufacturers will ship our product on time :). This was a night to introduce our teachers to our customers & let them get a feel for each teachers style/personality. Kelly is such a great boss/store owner. She does a great job!!!! She goes the extra mile for everyone, even the cranky, unhappy people. For those of you who did not get in on the fun this time around, we will be holding two more VIP events in August to create this same book. Watch the store calendar. The top picture is of Tanya (photography teacher) & Kelly (the owner). The next picture is of Eve & Denise. They are a loyal customers & I am lucky enough to call them my friends. Super sweet & super talented ladies. Love these girls. Hi girls!!!!
Garrett has been missing the older boys this week. He cries when we drop them off @ soccer camp. He wants to go too! He even puts on the boys old soccer cleats (on the wrong feet I might add) & gets his ball. We keep telling him that his turn is coming. Hard for a three yer old to grasp that. I had my camera out today & Garrett wanted to be in all the pictures with Brody. He would tell Brody to say "HAPPY"! That's what they are, HAPPY BOYS!

2 Day Recap

We are enjoying the days of summer. Last night for Family Home Evening we met the Jones Family over @ the Parker's to swim (thanks Lisa) & to eat pizza. Between the two families, we have a total of 8 boys. It was lots of fun & good times were had. The boys had a great time diving, trying to surf on the boogie boards, being tossed & flipped in the air by John, & many noodle wars. Oh, the life with boys! It was fun to visit with my good friend Stephanie. She is such a good soul. I really enjoy her friendship.
Tanner & Carter are loving soccer camp this week. They are coming home totally exhausted. Three hours of running around can really wear a boy out. Maybe I need to enroll Garrett to join in on the fun :). In the mean time, Garrett continues to enjoy the mud & trucks in the backyard. Endless hours of fun for this boy. I should have taken a picture before bath time. He was covered from head to toe in mud & was so happy :). Garrett had his three year old well check today. He weighs 37 lbs. & is 39 1/2 inches tall. He had to get one shot. He was such a good boy. He didn't even cry. He didn't even flinch either. I think that lollipop made the shot seem not so bad.
I am busy working on layouts for next months baby class. It will be a late night for me. What I really want to do is crawl into bed & read my new book. I think I am the only person on the planet not reading the new Harry Potter book. I am reading Twilight. It came highly recommended off of a few blogs that I like to read. I am 100 pages into it & am really enjoying it.
I am getting excited for our VIP event @ Green Tangerines on Thursday. There is lots to do between now & then. It should be a fun night. I can't wait!

I hope everyone is having a great night!

Busy Weekend!

I don't have much to say today. We had a busy weekend. Tanner attended a birthday party & went swimming. His face has been glued to his new Harry Potter book this weekend. We attended a baptism of a friend from church. We hit the mall & John got a new suit. For those of you who know him well, you know that this is a BIG deal:). The man hates to wear suits. It was time. We are blessing Baby Brody next weekend & he needed one for that. He looked great yesterday (Sunday). I hosted the Scrappy Hour @ Green Tangerines on Saturday night. I was there from 4:30 pm to 12:30 am. Totally paid for it on Sunday. I could not keep my eyes open during Sunday school.
The fixture in our closet fell. I'm not sure if I just own too many clothes or if it was just not installed correctly :)? You can stop snickering now John :). I'll leave you with a photo from a layout I just finished. Another baby layout for my baby class @ GT. I used the KI Memories Baby Line. The title reads Sweet Baby Boy. I am loving all of these yummy colors in the baby line. It s hard to see, but those strips of paper have words on them (Miracle, Bundle of Joy, Sweet, etc...). I inked them & put them over circle punches. This layout was originally done in the girl colors with Bazzill flowers as accents. The flowers just weren't working for the boy layout, so I used the circle punch. My talented friend Amy took the pictures of Brody Brody. Thanks again Amy!

Have a Happy Monday!

Is he the Zoo Keeper?

I have had this little outfit for a while now. Just waiting for it to fit Baby Brody. Well tody was the day. I put it on him. It fits. It looks cute. I sit him on the brown leather chair to shoot some pictures. Carter comes walking in & says "Is he the zoo keeper"? This boy totally cracks me up. We went to the park this morning & had to cross a little bridge to get to the park. In the creek below, there were a ton of brown ducks & two white ducks. Carter looks up at me & asks "Are those two ducks (the white ones) the ones from the commercials"? He wanted to know if they were the A-flack (sp?) ducks? Too funny!

One Happy Harry Potter Fan

Well, if I didn't win Mother of the year tonight...I never will. Tanner, Carter & I stood in line at our local Wal*Mart so Tanner could have the latest Harry Potter Book @ midnight. He has been looking forward to this for months. It is all we heard about today. We stood in line with about 300 other Harry Potter fans. A few were even dressed up. It made it kind of fun & exciting. We got home just after 12:45am & Tanner was chomping at the bit to read tonight. I let him read the first chapter & then sent him to bed. So...maybe I didn't win that Mother of the year award after all :). I think he's pleased. He has already said thank you @ least a dozen times. It makes it all worth it!
P.S. We even ran in to some old family friends, The Pickett's.

Two Month Check

Baby Brody saw the Dr. today for his two month well check! Where has the time gone? He weighs 15 lbs. even & is 25 1/2 inches long. The Dr. said to keep doing what we are doing, he looks great. We now lovingly refer to him as Baby Moose. He He is so stinking cute. He had to have 4 shots today. It broke my heart to see him get so upset. He cried so hard that his little face turned bright red. It took a few minutes to calm him down & then he fell asleep. He took a 4 1/2 hour nap, woke up to eat & went back to sleep. He's been a little fussy today. Hopefully he is back to normal tomorrow. I can't get enough of this little chunky monkey :).

The countdown is on. Tanner can't stand it anymore! The new Harry Potter book will be available tomorrow evening @ midnight. I told him I would run out & get it for him so he would have it first thing in the morning when he wakes up. He's trying to convince me to let him go with me @ midnight. I just might let him for the whole thrill of it. It is all he has talked about for the last month. During the 2ND grade year, he read all of the other Harry Potter books. He loves Harry Potter. This boy left 2ND grade reading @ a 6Th grade level. He loves to read. He says that he reads everything his eyes see. I love that he loves to read. My goal was to stay ahead of him in the Harry Potter department so I would know what each book was about. Sad to say, but this boy has out read me. I haven't made it past the third book. Not that I didn't enjoy them, they are very good. It's just that I am so tired when I crawl into bed each night that I have been not reading much of anything lately. I'll let you know how he likes the book when he's done. I'm trying to tell him to read slow & ENJOY it since it's the last in the series.
I have been busy creating a little mini book down @ Green Tangerines with Dolly. It is for a VIP event we are hosting for our customers. It is a cute little book if I do say so myself. The customers will come create this little book @ the event. They will rotate thru 10 tables, meeting each of our teachers & learning a new technique @ each table. E-vites were sent out yesterday morning around 9 am. Two hours later our event was sold out & we have 78 customers on our wait list. Dolly, Kelly, Paula & I are thrilled. We were worried nobody would sign up(LOL). If you didn't get on the list & want to, we are going to be doing it again. I can even send you an email with a picture of the cover. Just let me know. I have a ton to do in the next week to prepare for this. It should be fun!
We have had great weather this week. The boys have loved playing soccer in the yard, riding their bikes, skateboarding, a few park days, & swimming @ a friends house today. We love these lazy summer days. I just wish they'd all learn to sleep in - LOL! Have a happy Friday!

Mohawks, Green Tangerines, Bunko

What do these three things have in common you ask?
Not one single thing! I have been a little behind in my blogging this week. It was my turn to host Bunko @ my house this month. So, needless to say I have been in the deep cleaning mode. I love having parties at my house for this very reason. I seem to get things done that aren't on my daily chore list. It feels good to get it done. I am still enjoying my clean house this morning. It is giving me a little break from the daily chores & i love that. Bunko was fun! Good friends, yummy food, & a great time. What's better than that? I love being able to chat & visit with my friends. Can't wait for Bunko in September. Sorry, there are no pictures. I totally meant to take some but then totally forgot. I need to though. I have Bunko pattern paper that I need to use :). Yes, the scrapboking industry really has thought of everything.
Every time Garrett gets in the shower or bath I hear "Mohawk Mommy"? John gave him a Mohawk with the shampoo bubbles a while back & now it is part of the daily routine. Love those shampoo do's that you can rinse right out :). What's next, a tattoo?
I finished another layout. These are the pictures from our Two Peas crop @ Green Tangerines. A very simple layout. Sorry for the bad lighting. I don't have the greatest lighting in my scrapbook room @ 1 am :). I have been in the mood to scrapbook but am not getting anything done during the day :). So, in the wee hours of the night/morning are when I can play & get things done. I am usually so tired that I get one layout done. I guess it is better than none @ all.
Have a Happy Wednesday!

This Boy #3

Well, after "This Boy #3 "post, I will only have one more to go :). Meet Mr. Garrett, or Garr- Garr as my older boys lovingly call him. He is three & on the move at all times. People often ask me what I feed him. There is never a dull moment with this boy in the house. I often feel like he got robbed on the toddler things in life. With two older brothers, it seems like he went right to BIG boy things. He absolutely adores Tanner & Carter & wants to go with them where ever they go & do what they are doing. Each day when we would drop the older boys off at school, he would hold out his arms & make kissing sounds. That meant he wanted his kiss & hugs from them. Very cute! You can often find him under the tree in our backyard with a few cars & a shovel. He loves to dig. I am forever having to wash down the patio.
This Boy loves Hot Wheel cars. This Boy still takes a two hour nap each day(thank heaven). This boy loves to go to nursery every Sunday. This Boy will sit in our front window & yell HI to all of the neighbors as they come & go. This Boy is looking forward to preschool with Miss Jenn in September. This Boy is already an athlete, loves soccer, baseball, & basketball. This Boy can jam on his scooter. This Boy can drop in on his scooter at the skate park (can you say ER visit?).This Boy will read books with anyone who is willing, he loves to read. This Boy calls his Grandma GRANDPA, cracks us up(he can say Grandma). This Boy likes to undo his car seat straps while I'm driving :(. This Boy gives great kisses & hugs. This Boy likes to say his prayers. This Boy will tell us every night during Happy & Sad that Na-Na & Ti -Ti make him happy(his two best buds, Nathan & Timothy). This Boy is MINE & I LOVE him.

This Boy #2

It's only fair to talk about Carter now. This is my 2ND son. He has been an easy child from the get go. He was a happy go lucky little guy who has just grown up way too fast. I think we can attribute that to having an older brother who he wants to be like & do everything with. Carter has the sweetest little testimony & shares it often. He is always so thoughtful when he says his prayers. He is so grateful & so concerned about others. He has a very tender heart. He is kind, smart, funny, great @ all sports, loves his friends (especially the girls), a great little artist, & is just one "COOL" kid. When the boys came to the hospital to see Baby Brody for the first time, Carter was first in line to hold him. Once we placed the baby in his arms, you could just see & feel the love he already had for Brody. He did not want to share. He just sat there for a long time, checking out Brody's hands, toes, & giving him kisses on the forehead. It was very sweet & what every Mother hopes for when there is a new baby.
This boy can't wait to go to first grade. This boy loves to be outside. This boy tears it up on the basketball court, baseball field, & soccer field. This boy has the longest eyelashes you have ever seen. This boy can't wait for soccer camp in two weeks. This boy loves pink milk (strawberry milk). This boy loves clothes & will change his clothes several times a day. This boy loves to ride his bike around the block. This boy asks several times a day if it is time for Dad to come home from work. This boy reminds our family to share happy & sads at the dinner table every night. This boy is MINE & I LOVE him.

Layout Share

Thought I would share Brody's first layout! I have been so busy creating LO's for Green Tangerines that I haven't had much time to devote to our family albums or Brody's baby book. This LO is actually for the Sweet Beginnings Baby class Scheduled for the end of the month. I used the darling new KI Memories baby line. We offer a baby class each month & the LO ideas change. You can request a girl or boy kit & we change the colors accordingly. While it is his first LO, it will be on display in the store for a while. The finished product actually has brown Ric Rack running along the word art pattern paper. Now that I have knocked one LO out, I am in the mood to create :). What are you creating right now? Have a Happy Wednesday :).

This Boy

It seems all the fuss has been about the new baby. As it should be in his short little life thus far, right? I hope all of my children will always know how important each of them are to me. I feel so lucky & blessed to be given the opportunity to be their Mom. I am so thankful Heavenly Father trusts me enough to raise them. This boy makes me so proud. Tanner is my oldest & is such a great kid. He is smart, funny, sensitive, outgoing, fast, a great athlete, & a kind friend. He is my big helper. He is always willing to jump in & help when needed. He tells me several times a day that he loves me & it is always followed with a kiss on the cheek. I hope that lasts forever :). He has been incredible with the new baby. If Brody fusses & I am not close enough, Tanner will do whatever it takes to calm him down. Even if it means picking him up & throwing him over his shoulder to get him to burp :). I know, it makes me nervous too!Watching Tanner with Brody gives me little glimpses of what he will be like as an adult. He loves to read . He ended the 2ND grade school year reading @ a 6 Th grade level. A boy after my own heart.
This boy is counting the hours till he can see the new Harry Potter movie. This boy is counting the days till the new Harry Potter book is released. This boy is enjoying summer. This boy is looking forward to soccer camp in two weeks. This boy LOVES to read. This boy is looking forward to a new school year & new friends. This boy loves all sports. This boy has learned to dive this summer & is good at it. This boy amazes me everyday. This boy is MINE & I love him.

The end of the sabbatical

I can't believe it has been two months already! John will be heading back to work in a few short hours. He has been on a paid sabbatical from work for two whole months. Those two months went by so fast. He took it at the perfect time, right before Baby Brody was born. John has loved the time he has had to bond with Brody. I am not sure who will cry first?? John because he has so much to do @ work or myself because I am missing him & all the help. It has been awesome to have an extra set of hands. The boys have loved having John home all day. They filled his schedule with park days, swimming, soccer practices, baseball practices, water fights, the movies, the water park, bike rides, a day trip to Lake Tahoe, etc... I am not sure what we are all going to do w/out him??? I am so grateful for a husband who loves me, who loves his children, & is willing to step in & help. He is so good to me & I appreciate all he does for our family. I hope you have a great 1st day back to work honey, I love you!

The 4th of July

I love the 4th of July! It is right up there with Christmas for me as far as the holidays go. I love everything about it! I love what Independence means. I love the Red, White, & Blue colors. I love to see the American flag flying everywhere. I love the firework display@ the end of the day. I love the yearly BBQ/pool party @ the Buettners. This was our last party @ the Buettners. They are moving to Boise & it makes us all sad. For as long as I can remember, we have celebrated the 4th with them. I have loved that my boys now look forward to this yearly family get together. We had a great time. Everyone enjoyed the BBQ, swimming, the water balloon toss, the water balloon toss that turned into a water fight, the three legged race (Tanner & John won this year), & of course Pam being tossed in the pool. I wish somebody would have given me a heads up so I could have captured it on film :). Pam & Chuck have always been the "hostess with the mostess". Thanks for the fun memories. We love you both.

Mom, take our picture!

Just had to share this cute picture of Carter & Baby Brody! This is what I hear several times a day :"Mom, would this be a cute picture"? Or "Mom, take our picture". I am glad they remind me to have my camera ready at all times. I LOVE these boys!

Guess where I went tonight?

Yep, I got to go to the Kenny Chesney concert tonight (July 3rd). THANKS JOHN!!! I have been looking forward to this all week. It was my Mother's Day present & so worth the wait. John's NOT a fan of country music at all. I, on the other hand have a few country artist that I love. Kenny Chesney is one of them. He rocks the stage. This is my 3rd time seeing him in concert. I have loved all three concerts. He gets the crowd going & puts on a FANTASTIC show. I was able to go with my sister in law Heidi for her birthday. We had a great time. He played all of my favorite songs. Two of them being "YOUNG" & "BACK WHERE I COME FROM". If you ever have the chance to see Kenny Chesney in concert, I highly recommend it. You won't leave disappointed.

Who Stinks?

Here is our funny for the day. The boys (all four) & myself were laying on my bed talking to Brody. All of a sudden I caught a whiff of what I thought was a dirty diaper. I looked at Garrett & this is how our conversation went:

Mom: EEEEWWWW Garrett, do you have a dirty diaper?

Garrett: Nope

Mom: Garrett, do you have a dirty diaper?

Garrett: Uh -Uh

Mom: Who stinks?

Garrett: Tanner!!!!!

We were cracking up. I guess I should have said in the beginning of this post that Garrett still doesn't say the boys names very well. But let me tell you, when he replied "Tanner", it was clear as day. He had a cute little smirk on his face. Already trying to blame the older boys.

HAPPY

Look at this smile!!! All I had to do was say his name & this is what I got. I am so glad I was able to capture it! I LOVE this baby!
At 6 weeks (almost 7) he:

- coo's
- smiles
- follows our movements with his eyes
- almost rolled over (tummy to back)
- loves to snuggle with his knees tucked up
- is getting up once during the night (3 am)
- is still in the cradle in our room
- went to Lake Tahoe for the first time
- wears a size 1 diaper
- just starting to wear some 3-6 month clothes
- is so stinkin' cute
He makes me HAPPY! Raimi

Two Peas

First things first, one more photo from Lake Tahoe. Here is Baby Brody enjoying the sunshine. He was literally awake for 5 mintues & slept the rest of the time. I can't believe he will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. Time is moving way too fast. He is such a good baby. I can't imagine our lives w/out him.
Last night was fun! I attended a Two Peas crop @ Green Tangerines. For my non- scrapbooking friends, Two Peas in an online scrapbooking website. A little community of scrapbookers. It is a fabulous place to get ideas, look @ layouts, & hear about the latest & greatest. Green Tangerines ( a local scrapbook store) hosted a crop for local PEAS. It was great to finally put faces with screen names/posts. Didn't get very many pages done but had a great time chit chatting & getting to know new friends.
1st/2nd picture: Denise (co worker from GT) Kelly (owner of GT) & me
3rd picture (from left to right): Dolly, Raimi, Kathy, Judy,Denise, Sylvia, & Carol.
Green Tangerines is an amazing store. I am so happy to be a part of their team. Kelly & Paula have done an amazing job. This 10.000 sq. foot store is loaded with everything you can think of. A classroom that seats 40, a digital studio, a kitchen, Scrappy Hour on Fri. & Sat. nights (where dinner, snacks, drinks & desserts are served), classes during the week, and a floor loaded with amazing products. It is a scrapbookers paradise. It is my new home away from home :). I have exciting news that I can share now. I was just made the Creative Director @ Green Tangerines. I will co-share this job with Dolly. Co-sharing this job will allow me to work part time & still be a full time mommy. I am so excited & looking forward to this new phase.
Have a Happy Sunday!
