It seems like I just posted about the boys soccer games... the week goes by way too fast. here we go again! Both boy's teams won their games yesterday! YEAH!!! They are still both undefeated. YEAH! Tanner scored two goals & Carter scored two too! Tanner's team won 6-2 & Carter's team won 6-0 (I think), I know they won! I missed Carter's game due to Tanner's game. It was fun to have Aunt Petra there & our niece Jeneca. We are enjoying the season & looking forward to a week off in a few weeks.
In other news, Tanner moved up a rank in Cub Scouts. He completed all of his Wolf requirements. He will now be working on his Bear. He also earned a few Arrow Points. Way to go Tanner! We are so proud of him!
Garrett enjoyed his first field trip of the school year. This months field trip was to the health & safety fair. We had a blast. We got to ride the train, blow bubbles, have snacks, sit in the ambulance, enjoy some gymnastics, meet Smokey the Bear, see the dogs from the Canine unit, sit on tractors & motorcycles, & much more. Garrett had a great time running around with his pal T. Looking forward to next years fair (this was my 4th time attending & will enjoy it @ least 3 more times - GRIN).
Where did you meet your husband? I met him @ a church activity.
What was the first thing you said to him? I have no clue, maybe HI!
Where was your first date? Our first official date (mind you we had been friends for while & went out in groups of friends) was to Tony Roma's for dinner & then we went to a movie. It was a chick flick & John had heard me mention that I wanted to see it. I forgot to mention that there were a dozen red roses waiting for me when I got home from work that day. So sweet & so thoughtful! He scored major points. There was a note telling me he'd see me @ 7 pm. What I didn't realize was that he had one red rose removed from the dozen & showed up on my porch with the 12th rose. It was very sweet & romantic. After the date he told me how he felt about me & that he loved me.
Where was your first kiss? In my parents family room after a movie.
How long did you date? Almost a year. We even dated while I was in Utah/LA working.
Did you have a long or short engagement? Not too long. We got engaged on the last day in Feb. & were married in September. About 7 months.
Where did you get engaged? We went to dinner @ Margaritaville (Mexican food) in Capitola. Went for a walk along the beach & then he proposed. He got down on one knee & asked me to marry him.
Where were you married? The Oakland Temple
How did the reception go? Great! It was fun! Tons of family & friends. It was a great day! Could have not been better!
Where did you honeymoon? We didn't take a honeymoon right away. We did spend the night @ the Fairmont Hotel. We were both in school full time & working full time. We went to Hawaii almost exactly a year later. We count that as our honeymoon.
**This is easy to do! I can't wait to read your answers. I am tagging Free, Stephanie, Amy, Jamie, Camie, Keri, Lisa, Julianne, Laurie, Lizzie, Annie & Amber (it can be your first blog post Amber). Have fun!
Garrett is loving preschool. He is excited to share his preschool masterpieces with us. We love that he has something that is just for him. He has watched the older boys go to school for years. Now that it is his turn...he is all smiles & talks about school all of the time. He came home with this work of art last week & the title reads "It's Me".
Did you think I was talking about the Internet space MY SPACE - LOL? I am talking about MY SPACE in a house full of boys/men. The 4Th bedroom in our home is where MY SPACE is. MY SPACE is my scrapbook room. A few people have asked to see my scrapbook room... so here is a glimpse. This is just one side of the room. The other walls of the room have places/cubby's to store things (paper, embellishments, mini books, paints etc...) This is where I store all of my scrapbook stuff. This is where I work on projects for our family albums & work related things. I love my scrapbook room. I love that everything has a place (When I put it back in the right place that is) & for the most part it is organized. I love that if I am in the middle of a project but need to stop & do something else, I can leave it out right where it is & I'll I have to do is shut the door. When we moved out of our last apartment before moving into our home, John was shocked at all the places I had my scrapbook stuff. While living in the apartment, I would shove my stuff where ever there was space. Everyone's closet had a little of Moms stuff in them and I even had things hiding under the beds. I love that it is all now contained to one room(on most days). I love MY SPACE!
Hang with me! I am a few days behind on the BLOG. I want to record info from the soccer games so I will have the stats for the boys scrapbooks. Another Saturday, another round of soccer games. The weather was chilly & it even rained on us during Tanner's game. I am so grateful for Julie & her huge umbrella(thanks Julie). She kept Brody & I dry. The ref's didn't show up for Tanner's game so John jumped in & reffed the game. He was drenched, poor guy! Both teams are still undefeated & doing really well. Carter's team won 7 to 0. Carter scored 3 goals & enjoyed the game. Tanner's team won 4-2. Tanner scored 3 of those goals. Tanner played forward during the first half & then sat the first part of the 2nd half. The other team scored two goals in the second half so coach put Tanner back in & told him to score one more goal. The boy did what he was told & put us ahead by two. John & I love to watch our boys play soccer. It is so exciting. They love it & it is always a great game to watch. I'll leave you with a picture of Carter & his best pal J.
I married my best friend, my sweetheart, the man of my dreams, my one & only, the father of my children! Those 11 years have been filled with joy, love, smiles, tears, babies being born, living in different apartments, a new home, a new city, graduating from college, new friends, the loss of your Mom, different jobs, & MANY, MANY blessings. I am so grateful for YOU & for ALL that YOU do for me & for the boys. I am grateful for your support, patience, & unconditional love. . Our wedding day was one of the best days of my life. Happy Anniversary SWEETIE! I am looking forward to many more years of LOVE & HAPPINESS. I LOVE YOU!
Another Saturday, another round of soccer games for the boys. Tanner's team won 7 - 3. Tanner scored 4 goals yesterday. It is so fun to watch him run up & down the field. He is fast & aggressive & loves the game. He got to play goalie during the 2nd half & that made him a happy boy. I'll be honest, it makes me nervous... he does well & can hold his own. Carter's team won 2-0. The team he played yesterday had won the week before with a score of 9-0. John's game plan for the team was DEFENSE. It worked. The boys worked so hard. They kept the other team from scoring. Carter didn't feel well yesterday, but he still played his little heart out & even scored a goal. We are enjoying the soccer season so far. I'll leave you with some pictures of tanner (#14).
Thought I'd make a list of the things I am enjoying today! 1. Baby Brody talking up a storm, I swear he is trying to say Mama. 2. John stayed home from work today, still not feeling 100% better. 3. My new clear acrylic Font Works stamps, so cute & fun! 4. Minimal laundry to do today 5. a hot shower 6. A little jaunt up the Freeway to pick up birth certificates for the younger boys. Auburn is so pretty. 7. I am organizing my scrapbook room & love when it is clean. 8. The windows are open & we are enjoying some fresh air. 9. Garrett is FINALLY taking a nap. 10. Looking thru old photos while organizing my sb room. I love to look @ pictures. I would get more done if I didn't look @ them every time I decided to clean & purge :).
Okay so I have 11 things I am enjoying today!
11. The pedicure I enjoyed this morning. I was the only one getting a pedicure so the lady spent an hour a half on my feet...HEAVEN!
I hope you are enjoying your day & finding the little things that make you happy!
Tanner & Carter love soccer! They live & breath it! They both enjoyed their first games this past Saturday! Both of their teams won & they both had awesome games & great contributions from each of them. Tanner got to play goalie for the first time & Carter had a great time playing the forward position. My intention was to take pictures but Mr. Brody wanted to be held during both games. I wasn't able to snap very many photos. I love this one of John sitting with his players giving them a pep talk before the game started. This will be our lives for the next two months. They love it & we love it! Game on!
This is one of the layouts for my September SWEET BEGINNINGS class @ GreenTangerines. We are using the new baby line from K& CO. this month. Many people in the store have asked if I dressed Baby Brody up girl clothes for these pictures -LOL! This is sweet H. She belongs to my friend Amy (thanks again for the pictures Amy). We create two layouts in this class & you can specify whether you want a boy or girl kit. So the idea is... if you come to the class each month, you will eventually have a baby album completed or well on its way. I am busy working on my October samples. There is a ton of new stuff @ Green Tangerines. We are getting new things daily. It makes creating fun & fresh! Hope you are all doing well. Leave a comment & let me know you are out there!
We decided @ 7pm Sunday night that we wanted to head down to my parents. We left our house @ 8 pm & got there right before 11 pm. Amber had been there earlier that night. She left Kai & Kannon there so all of our boys could have a sleep over. I don't think they went to bed till 1 am. They were having too much fun! On Monday we got to head over to Gram & Gramps Shores house for lunch & a visit. Then the rest of the day was spent playing in the pool & the sprinklers. We ended the day with a BBQ. It was fun to play with the cousins.
Happy Birthday to my nephew Malakai! He is 11 today. It just seems like yesterday that we were awaiting his arrival. We had all enjoyed a big Sunday dinner @ my parents house when Amber said her lower back was starting to hurt. My Mom knew what was going on & it didn't take long for Amber to realize that she was in labor! Malakai gave new meaning to the holiday Labor Day, he was born a Labor Day that year. We hope he has a great day & that he enjoys his 11Th year of life. Happy Birthday Malakai, we love you!
