Kindness

So I show up to work last night for a meeting at Green Tangerines. My cute friend(partner in crime), Brandigirl says to me "I have a surprise for you in my car"! I am thinking: "What? No way! I LOVE surprises"! She comes back into the store carrying this...

How stinkin' awesome is this? I honestly thought she had all of our CHA pictures on CD for me(don't get me wrong, that would have been awesome too)-LOL! She had created two of these pieces of art earlier this summer for her best friends weddings. She had posted them on her blog & I left her a comment telling her how much I loved them & that my 12th wedding anniversary was coming up in September. Okay...I was so joking. She totally surprised me. Brandi made one for John & I, for our anniversary! I LOVE it!!!! Brandi, I can't even begin to tell you how happy this makes me. I have had a smile on my face all morning. You made my day, my month, heck... you made my year :). I was so bummed that I couldn't blog about it last night. I couldn't get a decent photo of it with my camera. It was midnight-LOL!
Brandi, you ROCK! Thank you for being such a kind, thoughtful, creative friend! Love you!

So this has got me thinking...kindness & thoughtfulness really do go a LONG way! Leave a comment telling me something nice that someone has done for you. You know, something that left a smile on your face all day long. One lucky winner will in turn, receive something nice from me! Can't wait to hear all about your kind friends & family members.

That is so great! Tell your friend if she wants to start selling them that I'd buy one for us tomorrow! It is so unique, bright, cheery and fun -- I love it! The things I appreciated the most were when I was so sick with each pregnancy I was in bed for the first five months and the meals brought to our family were more appreciated than any one would know.

those are cool and I too would buy one too.
Someone else did something really kind for me by helping out with my kids while at church and I was there with all 5. DH had to work and someone helped me during sacrament.

Brani is AWESOME! What a super clever art piece she can created. I totally love the RAK that people give me. I see the same people every morning when C and I take our walk. We wave Hi and Bye and sometimes we even pet the dogs. A week or so ago one of the ladies said "I just want to tell you that your walking is really paying off...you look great!". Wow! That totally kept me going all week. It is nice to have something pay off in the long run.

I was sad to miss MNT on Monday. It is my favorite part of the week. But C has been sick and really cranky and I was just worn out :o) C U next week!

Wow - that is such a cool thing!! 1) How did she make it and 2) If she doesn't want to tell were can I buy one.
So very nice.
Okay as far as nice things people have done for me there are so many I can't even begin to pick just one. But Ryan doesn't things for me ALL the time. Just little things like if I have to go to a meeting when I get home almost everything is cleaned up so I can just relax and get to bed before midnight. But the best thing he did for me is when we were just enganaged and the nightmere that was our wedding plans had just got to be too much he sent me flowers with a very loving note. That just made me feel so much better. And another one having to do with my wedding was went my Mother was being the total monster with things and she refused to pay for all the wedding invatations for Ryan's family because she thought they just knew too many people. Rhonda was such a sweet heart and took me aside and let me know that everything was Okay and that she would take care of everything. That meant so very much to me at such a stressful time. I'm so happy that my wedding was not a reflection of what my married was going to be.
Okay I hope that is some good things because I have rambled on enough. But tell your friend she really has something there.

OH Raimi, that is soooo awesome! i love when friends do wonderful things like that.

SEVERAL years ago i was in the middle of a divorce and had moved into a little apartment. this was really my first time i had ever lived alone. i had gotten married at age 19 so basically went from 3 semesters of college roomates to married living with a husband. i was scared. my sister and her husband lived in the apartment above me in a little 4 plex. EVERY night, as i pulled in the driveway after a long night working 2 jobs, my brother in law would meet me at the stairs and walk me into my apartment and check all of the closets and other possible hiding places for the boogie man for me. it was a simple but loving gesture that helped me settle in during a really hard time in my life. i will never forget that simple act of kindness. ever. OH and he always took my car on saturday and put gas in it for me....this is something i knew i was "looking" for is a possible future husband. now i have a wonderful husband who ALWAYS pumps my gas for me...awesome!

also my daughter makes my bed for me on the weekends...she is just a sweetheart like that!

Okay so as I sit here typing I am singing,"It's a small world afterall....". Here is my kindness story. Last night before turning in I checked my email, and there was mail from an unfamiliar name, however the subject read GT's #1 fan, I opened it up and it was a short and sweet note from the GT owner Kelly, just thanking me for my support of the store and wished me a great week! I was stunned knowing how busy she is that she took the time to just say thanks. It was a wonderful surprise and it made me smile the rest of the night! I shared the story with my hubby who might think my driving 2 hours to this place is nuts!! It's a small, small, world~!

When I moved out to Utah and it was yucky winter and I didn't know anyone and had no money and wasn't leaving the house at all, Erin Greene sent me a funny card with a gift card to Bath&Body in it with instructions to go and buy myself something. I stood in the kitchen and cried because it was so thoughtful. Really, you should give her something nice instead of me.

What a great friend you have! I would totally buy one of those, it is so cute and unique!
So one of the kindess things someone has done for me is shortly after we moved out here and I didn't know anyone, the ward secretly put together a little baby shower for me. I was so surprised and felt so good to see so many people come to meet me and give me great gifts. We had dinner and other people took care of my cranky baby for a couple of hours. I will definalty remember their thoughtfulness for the rest of my life because that was the hardest time of my life so far!

As for kindness....Mike brought me a diet coke. I really needed it. He also hasn't said one word about me being gone tuesday night ( to mutual), last night with mom and Annie (for a fun night out, and tonight ( out for girls night). Three nights in a row he gets four kiddos to himself. Hasn't complained at all. I'm sooooo lucky.

What a sweet friend! It is very cute! Gotta love it when you get a pick me up like that! I also really liked all the others stories!

Just the other day my friend Steph showed up at my door step with really cute post it note pads from the $1 section at Target! I LOVE them and every time I use them I think of how much I appreciate her! She is great!

What a great friend you have! I think its pretty thoughful every morning, no matter how early Jalen wakes up, Tim gets up with him and lets me sleep in as late as I want...never complaining. Of course post baby, sleeping in is like 8:30-9am...I never can sleep later than that! But it makes every day start so much better.

I used to collect teddy bears, and when I found out I was pregnant (23 years ago!), my husband went out looking for a special teddy bear for me. In a store window display he saw a huge "mama" bear and a "daddy" bear and knew he wanted to get me the mama bear. He bought her and left the store. But halfway home, he thought of the daddy bear sitting in the window all alone and he felt sad. So, my husband went back and bought the daddy bear, too. When he told me the story, he said "I didn't want to break them up. I know how sad I'd be without you." I still have those bears!

I love it! How do I become her friend? Kindness does go a long way.
The thing that is sticking out in my mind right now is right after I had London, a week to be exact my Mom left to go back home, Jordan was planting which is like totally pivital to our financial well being and the baby blues set in! Here I was with a 22 month old a one week old and a totally depressed new Mom. My best friend was at my house helping out like 3 times a day, taking Allie so I could nap, bringing dinner, stopping by just to check on us! Friends are all I have when I live so far from my family so that meant the world to me and is something I will never forget!

I LOVE the name frame thing! How creative.

One of the kind things someone did for me was right after I had a C-Section with my youngest, a friend called me up and offered to bring home my Kindergartener for several weeks after school. This was a life-saver! I wasn't allowed to drive for a couple of weeks after the birth and I was so relieved that she did this for me w/o being asked.
