Doing what he LOVES
Carter is thrilled to be back out on the field! Baseball season is here and we FINALLY have sunshine and blue skies...perfect baseball weather. Carter is still playing on the Padres with Coach Nick. He loves it! He has secured his position as short stop and is now on the pitching roster. It sure is fun to watch him to do his thing, what he LOVES!

and another one
Here is another double page layout that I created. Once again, I used my April/May GTKC goodies. I wanted to create a layout that summed up our Spring. I highlighted(with photos) a few of our favorite Spring activities. The ones with photos on the layout were John's birthday, park days, baseball season & the beautiful Spring blossoms. I then included one/two words that highlighted other Spring activities that were not included by the way of photos. I am loving the October Afternoon pattern paper. I cut around the circles on each side and kinda like the border it created for my layout.

I be back later, with another GTKC layout. Enjoy!

what we love about Spring
Spring is so refreshing. So many wonderful things popping up in the world around us!
Here are a few of our favorite things about this Spring and Easter.
1). My red tulips that have popped up in the yard. I planted them 3 years ago & they come back every spring. They make me happy.

2). We planted this tree about 3 years ago too. It continues to grow and changes with the seasons. This is what spring brings. The blossoms drive John's allergies crazy but it is so pretty to look at.

3). Park days. Once the suns begins to peek behind the clouds, the boys know park days are ahead.

4). With Spring comes Little League baseball. I don't think this would have made a spring happy list last year. Brody & Garrett were all over the place. This Spring, Garrett has a chance to play & Brody actually watches all of boys games.

We love cheering on our favorite gum chewing, players.

5). Our house getting egged. You didn't see that one coming, did you?

The boys loved waking up to this note and plastic eggs (that had been filled with candy) all over our front porch and on the grass. We made sure to return the fun to a few friends and neighbors. Thanks to whom ever egged us :-).
6). The annual egg hunt with friends at church. The weather was windy and stormy yesterday so the egg hunt was inside. The kids still had a blast and scored in the plastic egg department.

7). Coloring Easter Eggs as a family. Brody was the one who was the most excited this year. He took egg dying so seriously. We had to laugh when he pulled the 1st egg out and then attempted to drink the cup of dye.

8). The colors that remind us of all things Spring.

9). Swinging on the porch swing with a fun friend.

What is making you happy this Spring?

Spring cleaning...take two
I am still on a roll. I am still cleaning, organizing, & tossing things out. Today's focus was the bathrooms. What a chore it was! I loved today's tip. The Simple Mom's blog said that if your stuff does not fit in your storage baskets/boxes, you need to throw it away. If it is something you want to keep, you throw something else away out of your basket to make room for the things you want to keep. I cleaned out every single drawer & under all of the sinks in both bathrooms. I will share the before & after shots(brace yourself) with you. That top drawer became the bathroom junk drawer. I could not believe what a wreck those drawers were. Believe it or not, the boys bathroom was tidier than our bathroom. What's up with that? While cleaning my bathroom, I learned 1). that I buy a lot of chap stick, lip gloss & lip stick. I found about 20 tubes rolling around in the drawer. 2). That I need to find another closet to store all of my coupons deals(ie:shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant) in. 3). That I have a 2 year supply of shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, & deodorants :).

Many of you have emailed me asking for the Spring Cleaning site name. You can find the link for the Simple Mom blog under Sites I like to visit, the link is on the left, towards the bottom. Let me know if you jump on the band wagon. It has been awesome to break my house down by room. A little work each day goes a long way. Happy Spring Cleaning.

Our baby Birds

We FINALLY laid eyes on the baby birds Monday afternoon. They were/are HUGE! I was really shocked at how big they were/are. We are not sure how long the Mama had been sitting on them. The nest is very small for a Mama bird & two babies. Then, today when we got home from Garrett's preschool field trip, we noticed that the nest was empty. My heart sunk & I was sad. I did not realize how attached I had become to this little family that made their home in our tree. We were on our way back into the garage when all of a sudden we heard chirping. The baby birds were sitting in the dirt on the side of our house. They must have been learning/trying to fly. They sure didn't get very far! I am going to really miss them when they really do learn how to fly! This has been another wonderful sign that Spring is really here.
The first picture was taken on Monday & the second was this afternoon in the dirt.
