we are R-O-B-O-T-S

Said it my best R-O-B-O-T voice. Lately, I have had the need/desire to create. The feeling was strong on Sunday. I kept trying to escape into my scrapbook room and would quickly leave because somebody needed something :-). Life as a mommy = never a dull moment. I was finally able to sit down for a bit and was able to create another layout. When I caught word, back in February that Green Tangerines was closing, I knew I needed to purchase the Junior line by American Crafts. I had had my eye on it. It is very boy oriented and right up my alley. I used one of Allison Davis' sketches and this is what I came up with.

I am happy to have this little piece of Brody's childhood captured. For about a month straight, he would walk around the house and in his best R-O-B-O-T voice he would say "I am a R-O-B-O-T". I found this little R-O-B-O-T get up at the dollar store and couldn't pass it up. He quickly recruited Garrett and they both started walking around the house saying "We are R-O-B-O-T-S".

On a happy note, Green Tangerines is back. They will be opening sometime in September...so HAPPY!

Have a super week.

I am pretty sure I say this every month...and I will say it again! I love how versatile the monthly Green Tangerines Kit Club product is. So far, I have been able to create 3 totally different layouts (with one in the works) with just one kit. You can see the others in the posts below.

Here is my latest creation using the April/May kit. If the pictures look familiar, they are. I scrapped our most recent Girls Night Out, Summer concert style.

Oh these pictures are making me want to hit up another summer concert with these girlie's :-). Girls, who are we seeing next :-)?

and another one

Here is another double page layout that I created. Once again, I used my April/May GTKC goodies. I wanted to create a layout that summed up our Spring. I highlighted(with photos) a few of our favorite Spring activities. The ones with photos on the layout were John's birthday, park days, baseball season & the beautiful Spring blossoms. I then included one/two words that highlighted other Spring activities that were not included by the way of photos. I am loving the October Afternoon pattern paper. I cut around the circles on each side and kinda like the border it created for my layout.

I be back later, with another GTKC layout. Enjoy!

personalized gifts

Each year, during our girls weekend at the beach, we bring little gifts for each other. It is a fun tradition that was started a few years back. These little gifts can be anything from candy, mixed Cd's, lotion, to a package of brads. It is always a treat to receive these fun gifts. This year, I created binders for each of the girls. I found fun binders (they were all different) while I was out & about at various stores. I personalized each binder with their name, using American Crafts Thickers, some cardstock and a scallop punch. I then added buttons, flowers, ribbon & bling.

On the inside, I made page dividers using my Quikutz file tab die. They were simple to make & the tabs matched the color of the cover of each binder. I added a package of graph paper just in case they wanted to use their binders as sketch books. I also included meal planning & grocery shopping sheets just in case they wanted to use their binders for grocery shopping. The binders really can be used for anything. I will have to share my personal sketch book one of these days. It is red with tiny white polka dots...would you expect anything different ;-)?

I think it is time for a fun little give away. Leave a comment, sharing your favorite organization tip/tool. I will create a personalized binder for the individual that is picked(randomly)by my boys on Friday. Anyone is eligible to win, as long as they leave a comment...link your friends.

kotw - year in review style

here is a peek at this weeks kit of the week.

I was able to squeeze 12 photos (one for each month)on this layout. I tried to pick photos that highlighted our year. I am really loving the year in review LO's that already exist in our albums. I place them at the beginning of each album even though I created them at the end of the year. It serves as our table of contents for each album.
(Product used: American Crafts Junior line, Bazzill cardstock,Creative Imaginations tag, Fiskars Star punch, Pazzled title, ribbon & my Uni ball white pen)

This "The Year in Review" kit is available at Green Tangerines. As always, you can reach the store at 916*771*8010. If you put scrapbooking on your New years resolution list this year, this is the perfect way to get started. The product is all picked out for you. You just need a little time, adhesive & your own photos :-).

I sure hope everyone is enjoying their 2010 thus far.
I am on day SEVEN of no Diet Coke & a minimum of 45 minutes of my treadmill. I am feeling inspired & capable of doing ANYTHING!

pay it forward

you may (or may not) remember this Pay It Forward post from earlier this year. I had one year to make the first 3 ( I chose 4) friends who left me a comment on that post, something FUN from me. I was able to deliver 3 out of the 4 Pay It Forward surprise (in person or via snail mail) in the last two weeks. This is what I made and shared for my Pay It Forward surprise. I had so much fun making these ornaments for the school teachers, family, friends & my Laurels this year. I thought my Pay It Forward recipients would like one too! I am sure the Home Depot workers were wondering why the metal light plate switch frames were selling like hot cakes this season :-)! These little ornaments are a perfect way to use your pattern paper scraps. Add some ribbon, bling, charms & glitter American Craft(or not)Thickers and you are good to go!
