Woodcreek Football

Tanner decided that instead of playing high school soccer, he would like to play high school football. We have tried really had to steer our boys away from football. Both of my brothers played football at a young age and there always seemed to be a lot of injuries. We have told the boys that if they wanted to play football, they needed to wait until high school. We were a little nervous for Tanner. Lots of people told him that he wasn't going to get a chance to play because he had never played before. There were plenty of kids who had played for the last several years. . Lets just say, Tanner had plenty of playing time this year and did fairly well. He had the chance to play every single games. Their team was  5-5 for the season. Here are a few highlights.

Tanner right after he scored his first high school touchdown! Woot - Woot!
There is our #11(in white) working hard.

This was our last game(and it was at home) of the season. Look at the size of this kid they had Tanner up against. He had about 9 inches on Tanner.

 Brody, Garrett, Tanner and Carter.
These boys loved going to all of the games. Tanner's biggest fans and the frequent patrons at the snack bar.
We loved watching Tanner and the entire freshman team play this season. Tanner is already super excited and pumped up for next season. As one of the coaches was saying a few words to Tanner as we were leaving, he told tanner that he was the rookie of the year. Way to go, Tanner! Way to  go, Woodcreek!

W.I.W.S

Another week. Another Sunday. Another What I Wore Sunday post.

Todays outfit is brought to you by:
LOFT - Grey/white polka dot blouse
Down East  Basics - Grey fitted shirt
New York and Co. -  Grey skirt
Target - yellow cardigan
TJ Maxx (Nine West) - Grey heels
&
the best part of the outfit was the necklace that  I scored at Kohl's.
It was on clearance and ended up being the perfect color/accessory to complete the outfit.
Love when that happens!

Today was our Visiting Teaching Conference/lesson. It was awesome to have all of the sisters there. The YW and YM were awesome about stepping up and teaching the Primary children. I loved having our RS room so full today. So much love and definitely a sea of beautiful faces. The theme of our Conference was My Sisters Hands. We talked about what our sisters hands and our own hands do...service, pray for our sisters, and  how each of us are different and to be able to recognize those differences(young hands, old hands, worn hands, etc...) and still  love and serve those sisters that we have been asked to visit teach.

Even though it was fast Sunday, we still had to have a treat...that they could eat after they broke their own fast. I baked chocolate crackles and made rice crispy treats. I bagged them up and attached this quote to each treat.

"In visiting teaching we reach out to each other. Hands often speak as voices can't. A warm embrace conveys volumes. A laugh together unites us. A moment of sharing refreshes our souls. We cannot always lift the burden of one who is troubled, but we can lift her so she can bear it well."
Elaine L. Jack RS General President 190-1997

I am so thankful to be part of such an amazing church that has a wonderful organization for women. The Relief Society allows us to feel included and loved. I love each one of the sisters in our ward and am so thankful for all that they do and the service and love that they render.

halloween 2013

This day could not get here fast enough. 6  p.m. could not get here fast enough...according to the littles. Carter had a basketball game and Tanner had a football game and John attended both It was just Garrett, Brody and I.

We had to get the traditional pictures on the porch.
 Garrett, the blue morph man.

 Brody went as Captain America.

Garrett went trick or treating with some baseball buddies.

Brody and Sam ran from house to house. Those boys are speedy!

Brody was happy with his haul after an  hour. We headed home to light our pumpkins pass out candy.

Garrett came home for about 30 seconds to empty his pillowcase and then headed back out.

The older boys finally got home and went to a couple of houses for some treats. Brody was so happy to see them.
We hope you and yours had a happy and safe Halloween!

carving jacks

We were on the ball this year. We carved our pumpkins a few days before the big night. There were lots of "eeewww this is so gross" and "eeewww this is so smelly." We had a great time. John and I love the fact that the boys are all old enough to help and that we aren't having to carve 6 pumpkins between us. Here is

trunk or treat

It was a busy day. We attended our annual Roseville 5th ward trunk or treat. It felt weird this year. John was in flight from Oregon so it was just the boys and myself. We missed him but are thankful for his job and definitely thankful for a job that does not require him to travel a lot. We like it when he is around.

The boys and their friends. We enjoyed a chili/cornbread dinner. They had a blast running around, playing games and of course, trunk or treating.

Flash - aka Tanner. thank you Wal*Mart and black football pants for this last minute costume.

Brody and his buddy, Brayden.

Garrett and his crew. Not sure who is under all of these costumes. I do recognize the photo bomber in the back!

Carter and his crew. Tommy, Carter, Lane, Ethan and Joshua.

Grandparent's Day

AKA...Family day. Once a year, the boys elementary school hosts a Grandparent's Day. It is a day to visit, have lunch, attend the book fair, and visit their classrooms. My boys look forward to this event every year. I attended this year. I brought them Subway sandwiches for lunch. We visited the book fair and they each were able to pick out a book...or two or three. We love our books. I am thankful for the time I got to spend with each of my boys, one and one. I loved being able to visit with their friends at lunch. Such a great group of children. We feel very blessed to live in this area with awesome school and an awesome staff.
