W.I.W.S. - What I Wore Sunday

Here is the Mother's Day edition of W.I.W.S.. John is so good about catching me each Sunday(to snap some photos) before I change out of my church clothes. I am usually the last one home. Sundays are usually filled with meetings for me. I originally started these W.I.W. S. posts in hopes of getting back to blogging on a regular basis. I have the photos but not the consistent blog posts. I still love blogging and catching up with friends via their blogs. Hint, hint to those who need to update their blogs.  I am hoping to do better!

My Mom came up to visit, a week before Mother's Day. She insisted that we go shopping to find my Mother's Day present. She is my Mom, but always buys me a Mother's Day present. So fun! We hit Target and the mall. I ended up finding this new navy blue skirt at Down East Basics. She bought it for me and I bought myself the top. The cardigan in from Old Navy and the necklace is from, wait for it... Wal-Mart. They had the cute bauble necklaces on an end cap, in all of the super fun colors. They were only $5.00. I may or may not have picked up a couple -LOL! For $5.00, I was sold.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you fabulous women. Thank you for being wonderful examples to me.

W.I.W.S

Another week. Another Sunday. Another What I Wore Sunday post.

Todays outfit is brought to you by:
LOFT - Grey/white polka dot blouse
Down East  Basics - Grey fitted shirt
New York and Co. -  Grey skirt
Target - yellow cardigan
TJ Maxx (Nine West) - Grey heels
&
the best part of the outfit was the necklace that  I scored at Kohl's.
It was on clearance and ended up being the perfect color/accessory to complete the outfit.
Love when that happens!

Today was our Visiting Teaching Conference/lesson. It was awesome to have all of the sisters there. The YW and YM were awesome about stepping up and teaching the Primary children. I loved having our RS room so full today. So much love and definitely a sea of beautiful faces. The theme of our Conference was My Sisters Hands. We talked about what our sisters hands and our own hands do...service, pray for our sisters, and  how each of us are different and to be able to recognize those differences(young hands, old hands, worn hands, etc...) and still  love and serve those sisters that we have been asked to visit teach.

Even though it was fast Sunday, we still had to have a treat...that they could eat after they broke their own fast. I baked chocolate crackles and made rice crispy treats. I bagged them up and attached this quote to each treat.

"In visiting teaching we reach out to each other. Hands often speak as voices can't. A warm embrace conveys volumes. A laugh together unites us. A moment of sharing refreshes our souls. We cannot always lift the burden of one who is troubled, but we can lift her so she can bear it well."
Elaine L. Jack RS General President 190-1997

I am so thankful to be part of such an amazing church that has a wonderful organization for women. The Relief Society allows us to feel included and loved. I love each one of the sisters in our ward and am so thankful for all that they do and the service and love that they render.

What I Wore Sunday

Here are a couple of my latest What I Wore Sunday outfits!
Again, I am loving the shopping and the outfits I am finding for church.

Up first, this grey skirt is from New York and Co.. This store has quickly become a favorite of mine. There is always a sale going on. I get emails from them daily and am pretty sure John is going to ban their emails from my email account any day now. The sheer(peach/grey stripe) top is from Old Navy. I loved it so much that I went back and bought the black and tan one...sure to make its appearance very soon! The grey t-shirt underneath is from Down East Basics. I love their fitted t-shirts and am collecting all of the colors, one by one! I think everyone should have one of each color in their closet. The necklace is from Old Navy and my tiny silver earning were found at New York and Co..

I found this super fun black and white A-line dress at Old Navy (on sale). It is a tank top dress so I added a black fitted t-shirt from Down  East Basics underneath. The black cardigan is from Old Navy and so are the red bracelets. Red necklace is from Charming Charlie's and the red heels are Madden Girl found at Famous Footwear.

This outfit, minus the black shirt was purchased from Down East Basics. The black shirt was purchased at Target. The maxi skirt was on sale and so was the cardigan. Belt was a last minute add to the pile to complete the outfit. This skirt has quickly has become one of my favorites. I love all of the fun colors in the skirt. I am thinking I may need a job at Down East Basics to support my shopping habits :).

The weight loss/getting fit journey needed to happen. I feel better and have a ton more energy. At the end of the day, I have decided that the journey was all worth even if it was just for the fun shopping factor.
Happy shopping, friends!

W.I.W.S. - What I Wore Sunday

Today I wore a simple black dress. It has fun, chunky black buttons that run up the front and a belt that ties around the waist. It was another Ross find for under $20.00. I wore my red necklace and earrings that have been seen in other posts. My shoes were passed onto me by my friend, Amanda. Her MIL wore them once, they didn't fit Amanda and so they're now mine! YAY! I love them!

W.I.W.S. What I Wore Sunday

Today's outfit is brought to you by Kohl's :-). Now, I don't normally shop at Kohl's. I was on the hunt for Easter shirts/ties/outfits for the boys. I always have a hard time finding ties for the little guys so I ended up at Kohl's. As I was heading to the check out, this fun, colorful dress caught my eye. I stopped. Looked at it. I held it up to me and thought it was super cute. I ended up putting it back on the rack. I went home with new Easter attire for everyone but myself. John even got a new Easter tie :-). The next day, I had found out that I had won 3rd place in the Green Tangerines Biggest Loser Contest. I knew the first thing I was going to buy with my winnings...that dress. I headed back to Kohl's and tried the dress on. It fit and I still loved it. It was mine. I was taking it home.

Dress: Jennifer Lopez for Kohl's - you can check out the rest of her collection here: http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/ourbrands/jenniferlopez.jsp

W.I.W.S. - What I Wore Sunday

So to be honest, I wasn't going to post my WIWS outfit. It is General Conference weekend for the members of our church. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, it basically means church in your jammies for all of the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. General Conference happens twice a year, in April and October. It is a weekend filled with  inspiring  messages from the Prophet of our church and other church leaders that we can watch on TV. Before I share my "oh so cute and fancy" outfit for the day :-), I wanted to share one of the things that was announced this weekend at General Conference.  We learned that the ages have been changed for those who wish to serve a full time mission for our church. The Young  Men (Elders) used to have to wait until they were 19 years old to serve. Now, they can leave at the age of 18. The Young Women (Sisters) used to have to be 21 years old. They can now leave at the age of 19. I am freakin' out...just a little bit. That means that Tanner could potentially leave on his mission in 4 short years ( plus 2 months). EEEEEEKKKKKK! It really made me step back and wonder if we are teaching him EVERYTHING that he needs to know. I have a lot of work to do in the next 4 years. Big, big news this weekend!

Without further ado, here is today's WIWS outfit...my jammies. On General Conference Sunday, our family stays in our jammies, listens/watches conference, enjoys a yummy breakfast(breakfast Burritos made by Dad) and a yummy lunch(Scones, buttermilk syrup and fruit made by Mom). I stayed in my jammies ALL DAY long! Heavenly!

With the weight loss, I have had to re-buy everything, including my jammies.
I couldn't pass these grey/white stripe Calvin Klein jammies up. I found them at Ross. The tag said they were normally $68.00. Let me be the 1st to say that I would NEVER, EVER  pay that price for jammies...EVER. I was happy to see that the Ross price was $21.99...more my speed :-).

There you have it...this is What I Wore today, on Sunday!.
p.s. I don't normally tuck my jammies in but I did so you could see the cute draw string in the front. They are super comfy!

WIWS - What I Wore Sunday

Here is the 2nd installment of WIWS. This is kind of fun! It is making me want to go shopping...ALL OF THE TIME! I am sure John will love that!

Today's outfit is another TJ MAXX find. I am a new fan of TJ MAXX, ROSS and MARSHALL'S. I have always been a MACY*S girl but when you have to rebuild your entire wardrobe, you need a few stores that are a little more budget friendly. It doesn't hurt or as John would say, "Help" that TJ MAXX is right in my direct path of soccer drop off/pick up for 2 of our 4 boys.

The shirt(it is a super soft cotton t-shirt) was $9.00 and the skirt(Black, grey, white and blue stripe) was $20.00. It is super comfortable AND happens to be John's favorite shade of blue :-). My necklace and bracelet were found at New York and Company. I happened to score those on a random 50 percent off the entire store day. I love me some bargains. The shoes are black sandals that I have had forever. They will be retired at the end of this warm weather.

Again, let me know if you decide to play along. I would love some inspiration.
