Belated Anniversary date

Such a fun night! John and I hit the Maroon 5 concert...anniversary date/present that was just  a few weeks  late! I love stretching anniversaries, holidays, birthdays out...making them last a tad bit longer.

The weather could not have been better. I think I am in love with outdoor Fall concerts in Northern California! My date was perfect :)... 17 years later and he still makes me smile.  Dinner was easy...our favorite sandwiches from Bel Air...the Santa Cruz sandwich. The opening act Rozzi Crane was great...minus one song. Kelly Clarkson was amazing! I have always  liked her songs but she is not someone I would have been dying to see. She surprised me. She sounded amazing, had lots of energy and was really down to earth and funny.

Maroon 5 did not disappoint. I have loved them since their very first album and even more with their come back a few years ago. Their energy was insane and they too, sounded amazing. I think they are better LIVE! The lighting and graphics were awesome and the ton of confetti that came streaming down towards the end was FUN!

I was getting worried because they had left the stage, the concert was over and they had not sung/performed my favorite Maroon 5 song. Not gonna lie, there was a little bit of panic! Now we all now that most bands will come out for an encore, which they did! The 1st song they came back and sang was still not my all time fave but the 2nd one was. YAY! Adam Levine and  (on guitar) did an acoustic version of  SHE WILL BE LOVED and they had the audience participate! one word, okay two...Incredible and Happy!

family and favorite memories

Today was a special day! We made the trek down to the Bay Area to be there and support my brother,  Tyson. He was set apart and received the Melchizedek Priesthood today. It has been a long road for my little brother and there was not a dry eye in the room as my Dad set him apart today! There are awesome things in store for Tyson and his new wife, Gina.

Today is what life is all about. It is about supporting one another. Loving one another. Being there for one another...no matter what! It was awesome to be there with my family today.

A favorite memory from today was sitting on the front porch with my Grandma Shore. The guys turned on the 49er game and that always seems to elevate the noise level by a few octaves. Grandma looked at me and said "lets sit out front!" While I do love family gatherings  with everyone there, it was so nice to have some one on one time with just my Grandma today. I wish I had thought to have someone snap a photo of us, sitting on the porch chatting, but I didn't. It is one of those memories that I will tuck into my own memory for the rest of my life. I love her so much! I am thankful for the love and time she invests in me and her entire family. I know, without a doubt that we all mean the world to her, as she does to us.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from today.

17 years... and counting

I am pretty sure I have my happily ever after. No, I DO NOT live in la-la land.  I am fully aware that marriage, like life, is filled with the ups and downs, curve balls, happy and sads, love and  joy! Our marriage is not perfect but we try and are constantly working at it. We know how to laugh. We know how and when to pitch in and help. We have learned when to say we are sorry. We
have learned how to forgive and move on. I am beyond thankful for our marriage and for the life we have created.

To mark our 17th year, we went to dinner at Pluto's. I love the salads and John  loves the draft root beer and sandwiches. After dinner, we did some shopping. I scored a new pair of Saucony running shoes and John scored some new shorts...happy anniversary to each other. We love those type of gifts, the ones we pick out and get to try on  before leaving the store :).  To end our evening, we went and saw The Butler. We hit the last showing and were 1 of the 3 couples in the theater. The Butler is a must see movie, if you haven't seem it yet.

Looking forward to the next 17 (plus) eternity years that we have to spend together!

Tyson and Gina

My baby brother did it! He tied the knot! We attended the wedding of the Summer this past weekend and had a blast.

My brother looked so handsome and was unbelievably calm. I truly believe when you have found the one, your true love...your heart just knows it. Uncle Tyson wanted all of the nephews to be a part of his special day. Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Randy purchased purple Vans and purple bow ties for all of the boys to wear. They looked awesome and felt so LOVED to be so included in their big day.

The venue and the view were amazing! The Gustavson's home/yard overlooks the Bay Area. On a clear day, you can see San Francisco.  Lots of photos were snapped and here are just  a few of my favorites !

The boys had a blast dancing the night away! I have decided we need more dance parties!

The Shore cousins! So thankful for those cousins who chose to come and show their love for Tyson and Gina! It meant the world to them and to our entire family!

Love this photo that I snapped of my parents! My Mom worked so hard on the wedding. All of the Sandy touches were wonderful!

The beautiful bride and groom. They looked wonderful and so happy!

So very Tyson and so very, Gina!

Another shot of the cousins! They so love being together. I love this shot for many reasons but I love how both, Garrett and Brody's arms are wrapped around their oldest cousin, Malakai!

My brother Brandon and I. He gave a great toast!

My siblings and the happy bride and groom. We are all so happy for Tyson and Gina!

Their get away car. Super fun tradition. Uncle Rick has driven the Davis kids and spouses away from their reception in his 1949 Woody!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Tyson Davis!

June 2013

I have given up on the thought of updating our lives, in detail since May. The best I can do is highlight our months! June was a busy month, with with lots of milestones and memories for all.

Garrett's team made it to the AAA Fun fest championship game. they did not win but the ride was still FUN and let them play some extra games. He was on a great team with awesome coaches.

Brody finished his 1st t-ball season. He had a blast and made new friends.

Our little league season ended with a movie night on field 4. We watched Sand Lot under the stars.

Tanner headed out with the  Scouts for a week long trip. They kayaked down the Trinity River.

Brody enjoyed his very first swim lessons. He is now a Marlin!

Garrett turned 9 on June 11th. He was showered with fun presents and a day all about him!

We headed down the the Bay Area to celebrate my cousin, Kerstin's 40th birthday! I swear we are still 18 and going to college together.

Father's Day! We are so lucky to have this guy in our lives. He is our EVERYTHING!!!

The annual ALL STAR hair dying party. Carter is blond again!

Garrett gets his braces off. His dentist sent him home with a bag of treats that he had to avoid while wearing his braces.

End of the year teacher gifts. We love our teachers.

Tanner received some awards at a school awards night(straight A's, PE, and WEBB). It was a by invitation event.

Last days of kindergarten! They enjoyed a picnic in the park. Brody made some new, fun friends this year!

Tanner graduates from middle school. We are SO proud of him. He worked hard, took advanced math and English classes and even pulled straight A's his entire 8th grade year.

Garrett and friends from his class, on the last day of school. He had an awesome 3rd grade year. Huge strides for this boy!

It was a month filled with plenty of events/activities and we wouldn't have it an other way.
Okay, who am I kidding? I would have loved a nap...or two !
