egg hunt #3

We enjoyed Easter dinner with the Yuba City Krupps. Petra hosted dinner and it was fabulous. She BBQ hamburgers, hotdogs(for the kids) and chicken and she even prepared all the fixin's(salads and veggies) to go with it. It was YUMMY! Aunt Petra and Aunt Kristina spoiled the kids and hid 125 plastic eggs all over the front and backyards.

It would not be a holiday at Aunt Petra's without See's candy! She spoiled everyone with their favorites. Happy Easter to each and every one of you! We hope your day was filled with those you love!

Easter {egg hunt #2} 2012

The boys were thrilled to see that the BIG Bunny had visited our home!

The baskets had been filled and the eggs were hidden all over the backyard. It was so cold outside, the boys found all of the eggs and treats in no time...shortest egg hunt ever! I am sure it didn't help that NONE of them put their shoes on!

Happy Easter from our family to yours!

tradition

A tradition is a tradition and my boys don't forget them. We had so much fun celebrating Grandma's birthday that we didn't get on the road(home)at the time we thought we would. So, in keeping up with traditions, we dyed our Easter eggs 10:15 pm the night before Easter. There is nothing like the last minute :-).

I then stayed up to finish up theses fun treats for my girls(YW). I made them their own Peeps S'mores and told them that they are some of my very favorite PEEPS...thank you Pinterest!

Egg Hunt #1

We enjoyed a fun, chilly morning at our Ward Easter Egg Hunt. Breakfast was provided(fruit, yummy breads/rolls and juice). Kenzie sure enjoyed the spread. We sure love this sweet little girl and her pretty Mama :-).

The children could not wait for the egg hunt to start.

As soon as they were given the go ahead, they were off and running, gathering eggs as fast as their little legs could carry them.

(Brody is in the orange sweatshirt)

There were sack/three legged races. There were bubbles. There were egg(on the spoon) races and lots of laughter.

We even had our picture taken(the entire family)with the Big Bunny! I am so glad the older boys are still willing to humor their mother.

Spending the morning with our friends was the perfect way to kick off our Easter weekend.

Easter Sunday

Since we were already in the city, it was easy to make our way over to my parents house. We spent the night with them. The boys were thrilled to wake up and discover that the Big Bunny had found them at Grandma's house.

We hunted for eggs.

I even managed to get them to sit still for a group shot, before and after church.

My Mom had all of my siblings(and S.O.'s) and my Grandma Shore over for dinner. We always have such a good time together. I am so thankful for the time we get to spend with each other. I am thankful for those who take the time to organize these family gatherings. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I know my boys will always remember these fun times spent with the people who love them and the people they love and adore.

Happy Easter!

the big bunny delivered

We had a nice Easter morning at home. The boys were up at the crack of dawn. They were all excited to see what the Big Bunny had left for them. Brody took the drama award this year. He was so excited and so animated about EVERYTHING. I love this picture. This was the expression we saw all morning.

He was excited to unload his basket. He was ecstatic when he saw that the Big Bunny had left eggs all over our back yard. Even more ecstatic when he discovered that there were pieces of candy in those plastic eggs...and this my friends is exactly why I love holidays with little kids. The experience is pure magic.

Our morning was filled with an egg hunt in the backyard, homemade scones with buttermilk syrup, General Conference (a world wide broadcast for members of the church)in our jammies, and probably a little too much chocolate. It was wonderful to listen to our church leaders from the comfort of our own home. Their talks were inspiring and filled with so much love. It was the perfect addition to our Easter.

After conference, we headed to my sister in laws for lunch and another egg hunt. I think she hid 200 eggs for 6 kids(okay, two of them were teenagers but still). Petra is always the hostess with the mostess.

Once we got home, we got a visit from an old friend. John and Deanna went to high school together. It was fun to meet all of her girls. The last time we caught up with them, they only had one and we had two :-). Anyways, their girls are darling & it was fun to catch up and trip down memory lane with them.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter.

Happy Easter

Wishing each of you a Happy Easter.
We dyed 3 dozen eggs last night. Lots of fun colors & white crayons helped us get the look we wanted...simple, bright colored eggs.

We set the baskets out for the Big Bunny to fill & sent the boys off to bed. They were too excited to sleep.

Our kiddos were up @ the crack of dawn...Tanner was the first one to come into our room @ 6 am. The Big Bunny left the boys baskets on the kitchen table, filled with lots of goodies. John & I were so tired that we stayed in bed till 6:30 am. It was pretty amazing to go out into the kitchen & find every ones baskets still in tact...exactly like the bunny had left them.

It was so fun to watch Brody look out into the backyard & notice all of the eggs everywhere. He got so excited & headed right out into the backyard. It was hysterical to watch him during the egg hunt. Each time he would find a plastic egg, he would sit down & crack the egg open. He would crack the egg as you would if you were baking in the kitchen. Once the egg was open, he would sit down & eat whatever was inside of it. He quickly caught on that you leave the hard boiled eggs alone & look for the plastic ones. Can we say sugar high by 7 am?

This is the first year that my boys did not having matchy-matchy Easter outfits. The older boys are getting a little too old for that & I didn't want to push it. It makes me kinda sad. I did end buying the older boys new ties last night & Brody finally got to wear his Easter outfit that I found @ Target a month ago. They looked so handsome.

Church was wonderful & a nice reminder of why we celebrate Easter. Thankful for simple reminders.

We headed up to Yuba City to enjoy Easter dinner with John's side of the family. The boys enjoyed an egg hunt with the cousins, more candy, & birthday cake for John.

So very grateful for my family & the time we were able to spend together today.
Happy Easter.

Easter Morning

Some photos from Easter morning. Better late than never right??? The boys were so excited & were in our room @ the crack of dawn. Do you love Garrett's mis-matched Christmas jammies (top from one year & bottoms from another). This is so him right now. He likes to pick out his own clothes/jammies.
We decided last minute (Easter morning) that we would drive down to spend the day with my family. It was a whirl wind trip but we are so glad we went. We spent 6 hours total in the car (there & back with some traffic) but were able to enjoy some great family time. We stopped to visit with my grandparents & then headed over to my parents & enjoyed Easter dinner with my family. All of the grand kids loved playing whiffle ball with Uncle Brandon & Grandpa. I seriously think it was a 2 hour ball game-FUN! It reminded me of my brothers playing ball out front with all of the neighborhood kids in their younger years. It was a great day! We are so glad we made the trip!

NON-STOP

Carter filled his 8 egg quota @ the ward egg hunt in no time!
The Primary children enjoying the bubbles.

Brothers! Do you think they look alike? We are often asked if they are twins! John & I don't see it!

Garrett showing Mommy what he scored!

Dad getting ready to color eggs!

We sat Brody in his Bumbo chair @ the table. He went right for the eggs & was so proud of himself for snatching one before we could catch him.

Our finished products! We had a great time coloring our eggs. The boys actually had patience to wait for the colors to take :).
***I am too tired to fiddle with my blog tonight. The pictures should have followed my blog entry!

I have been up since 5 am. The rest of my family has been up since 6 am & we have seriously not stopped all day long. I was in charge of the ward Easter Egg Hunt/breakfast this year. We enjoyed breakfast, an egg hunt, bubbles & all sorts of games for the children (thanks Jamie, she rocked the games). All of the fun started @ 8am!! What was I thinking??? Then from the egg hunt, we headed to a friends birthday party. We enjoyed all sorts of bounce houses, pizza & cake. From that party, we headed over to the church for Susie's baptism. She looked so sweet in her white dress. After the baptism, we enjoyed dinner with the Sugdens. Once we returned home, I started to boil the eggs & then got all of the egg colors ready. I am happy to report that our eggs have been dyed & it is not even 10 pm. We have dyed them that late in years past.
John & I are so exhausted that we are ready to head to bed. We better hurry before the BIG BUNNY stops @ our house . Happy Easter & may the Big Bunny find his way to your home tonight!
