kit of the week

Here is a look at the most recent kit of the weeks that I have created for Green Tangereines. As always, you can call the store(916-771-8010) if you are interested in purchasing a kit.

{apple hill}

I love how this one turned out. I love all of the yummy colors. Our family has never been to Apple Hill. It is on our "TO DO" list. I am so glad that Mer had some great photos of Dylan that we were able to add to LO.

{the Patch}

This LO documents our favorite Fall tradition, Bishop's pumpkin farm. It is one of our very favorite places to visit each year.

beep beep...

watch out, the Walking School bus is coming. This is an activity that the boys look forward to with the start of each new school year.

You wait on a street corner in your neighbor & the Walking School bus makes its way through the neighborhood to pick you up. It was quite a sight to see 95 percent of the student body walking to school.

It is a great event that encourages the children & parents to get out & walk to school. It provides good exercise & reduces pollution. Once we made it to the school grounds, their was a light breakfast(bagels, fruit, fruit leathers,waters) & a fun little pep rally for the kids. My boys sure don't need the encouragement in the exercise department. They love riding their bikes to & from school & continue to run circles around us. I, on the other hand need all of the encouragement I can get. The Walking school bus renewed my desire to get out there & walk. Come Monday morning, Brody & I will be out & about, soaking up the sunshine & getting our exercise in. Honk if you see us or better yet, come join us!

Walking school bus

Our family joined in on the fun this morning & took the walking school bus to school this morning. This is an event put on by the city in efforts to get more people to walk to school, to carpool, to get out and exercise, & to just remind us to save gas when we can. You find the closest stop to your house (a map was provided by the school) & wait for the walking school bus to hit your stop. It was quite a sight to see all of the children & their parents walking to school. I think the entire (or almost) school participated this morning. Once the kids arrived @ school, there were cheerleaders (parents) holding signs that read "You can do it" & "You are almost there". They had bottles of water, cinnamon rolls, banana's, & granola bars waiting for the kids. They had Mac Gruff the crime dog & a juggler there too. They had fun music playing & just really went out of their way to make it a fun morning for the students.
