Girl's Weekend

Check out the view from our beach house! What a view!!!!

I can't let March pass by with out documenting our Scrapbook weekend at the beach. We rented a beach house(early March) at Dillon Beach this year. We go back and forth between Bodega and Dillon Beach. we encountered a few snafu's before our weekend even {officially} started and then we were good to go.

Our weekend was packed with lots of chick flicks, fun music, yummy food (we ate like queens. Healthy queens, minus the scones and buttermilk syrup), walks on Dillon beach helping Sheri collect seashells, scrapbooking, reading, massages, staying up late chatting with good friends, walks up and down the giant hill, making up new animals that were seen coming to and from the house :-), and some serious quality girlfriend time. I love and look forward to this yearly trip.

My favorite part of the weekend was catching up with this sweet friend. My friend, Michelle and I don't get to see each other as often as we would like. Life, kids, jobs and distance makes it hard for us to connect on a regular basis. What I do love is that when we see each other, we immediately pick right back up from where we left off, like no time has passed between us. That is a sign of a true friend...love you, Michelle. Are we Vegas bound :-)?

I am already looking forward to next years trip :-).

2nd Annual Lake Tahoe Girls escape

Where do I even start? I had an amazing weekend with some of the most amazing ladies I know! My weekend was so much fun that I often forgot to get my camera out.Between my friend Steph's photos & mine, I think I have enough for a layout. I guess I was living in the moment :-)...so not like me. We arrived in Tahoe just before dinner. This weekend was all about relaxing & flying by the seat of our pants. The little Mexican restaurant in the North Star village was closed so we headed out & drove around till we found something we could all agree on. Panda Express it was, or fake Chinese food as Jan called it :-)! The weather man was right, the high was 44 degrees during the day. It even drizzled all day long on Saturday. The sun was no where to be found. Despite the gloomy weather, we still enjoyed ourselves.

We really enjoyed a carefree weekend filled with:
5 star accommodations,a king size bed & our own bathrooms

movies @ the condo( I FINALLY saw Pride & Prejudice), eating out,
games(Skipbo, chicken feet & a very competitive game of Catch Phrase),

an awesome movie out(Angels & Demons),

more junk food than our tummies could handle(Lisa's huge yummy pan of brownies,Diet Coke,Candy,Mountain Dew) our heads not hitting the pillow before 2 am each night, Jan driving us all around in her Suburban,

waking up by 8 am, church on Sunday, our annual after church photo shoot,

finally seeing the Lake on Sunday,

losing my wallet & not knowing it, Kristin finding my wallet by accident, photo opps.,

Lots of LAUGHTER,

& the sun finally making its appearance the day we left. It REALLY was just a great weekend amongst the girlfriends. Thank you Kristin! Thank you for arranging another super girls weekend escape & sharing your beautiful condos with us. We are all looking forward to next year!

This is my Project 365 photo for the day!

I am headed off to Lake Tahoe later today for our annual girls weekend! There
are about 12 of us, girlfriends going. It is going to be a blast...good times
are sure to be had!! I have been looking forward to it ALL year long.

It isn't going to be very warm, the high will be 44 degrees tomorrow.
None the less, I am so excited! We will stay up late, laugh, have good
conversations, enjoy the scenery, read a good book, eat out, sleep in,
enjoy our trash magazines(People,US) maybe catch a movie, not worry about
the laundry or fixing dinner for that matter.

A HUGE thank you to my hubby who knows how important these little escapes
are for me! I come home a better Mom & Wife! I owe ya big time John, boy!

Have a fabulous weekend! I'm out!!!!!

Girls Get Away

I don't even know where to begin. I was able to get away this past weekend with a big group of girlfriends! The Solano's were gracious enough to open their Condo's & host our fabulous weekend. I was able to leave Friday morning & returned home on Sunday evening. It was a wonderful escape & the company could not have been any better (except if everyone could have made it). I am so thankful that John was so great about letting me go. I left him with all four boys & a busy, packed weekend. He truly was Mr. Mom this weekend & I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for a hubby who can hold the fort & troops down while I am gone & EVEN have the house cleaned up before I returned. Thank you sweetie - I SO appreciate you! I thought I would list some of the highlights from the weekend. Here we go!

-Loved the car ride to & from! Fun, serious girlfriend time to chat.

-The Condo was amazing-5 star accommodations.

- For $39.00 I had my own room & bathroom & groceries for the weekend.

-Staying up until the wee hours of the morning chatting with friends.

-Sleeping in, not having to be anywhere or having a schedule to follow.

-The 1 1/2 mile hike that turned into a 7 or 8 mile hike for some.

-Celebrating Stephanie's birthday!

-Laughter & tears.

-Blisters & shin splits-not fun!

-The view from the top of the forest, looking down @ Lake Tahoe, absolutely breath taking.

-Riding the STINKY Gondola @ North Star. A bunch of stinky mountain bikers made that thing STINK so bad.

-Not having to cook or clean.

-Church on Sunday morning. It was a wonderful meeting filled with the spirit & wonderful people.

-Roasting S'mores @ the fire pit.

-People watching & the Bungee jump.

-Jan doing back flips on the Bungee jump, showing up the older lady before her.

I can't wait for next year :). A huge shout out & thank you to the Solano's for a FABULOUS weekend. Thanks for the memories!
