five

Only five blog posts for me thus far in the month of January! Really??? How did that happen? We have had a busy month, living and enjoying life.

My parents(Gran RanSan) and my Grandma Shore came up to visit so they could be here for Tanner's ordination at church. At the age of 12, the boys receive the Priesthood. A pretty special day for Tanner and John. We were so happy to have them here.

I have jumped on the Tara Whitney bandwagon and will be doing the six people twelve times photo project. We captured our first six people photo on this same day.

The Young Women from church have been door bell ditching the Grandmas and Grandpas in our ward. We thought it would be fun to brighten their Fall/Winter months. Each girl had 2-3 Grandparents that became "their" Grandparents. We dropped off homemade treats(doorbell ditch style), sent notes via snail mail, and even made some visits to their homes. They had no idea who their "Granddaughters" were. Everything was signed "your secret Granddaughter". We held a luncheon for the Grandparents and Granddaughters where they got to meet each other and have lunch together. It was so much fun and such a rewarding activity. Alot of the girls still write to their Grandparent each week even though they see them each Sunday.

We have officially finished our select soccer season. Now the boys are on to basketball. The season is off to a great start. You can even find Brody wearing the boys uniforms when they aren't wearing them...pretty much M-F.

121 one of us just completed our 2nd week of the Green Tangerines Biggest Loser Challenge. We have lost 596 pounds as an entire group, in two weeks. Imagine what the total weight loss will be at the end of the 12 weeks? I am happy to report that I have lost about 10 lbs. during those two weeks. I haven't been one of the top 3 weekly winners but I am so stinkin' proud of that loss :-). Kelly and I have been hitting the gym M-F and I honestly think that has been the key factor for me. Now that I think about it, I think the gym is to blame for the lack of blog posts :-). This night owl(when the blogging usually happens) has been in bed by 10 pm on most nights. The gym has kicked my rear but I can honestly say it has felt great.

I am still happily creating the Kit of the Weeks for Green Tangerines. This Year in Review was released two weeks ago. I love highlighting our years. Perfect place for those photos that might not make it onto a layout otherwise.

I am happy to report that our 2010 Project Life album is complete. I should be honest and tell you that it is missing one photo. One photo, folks. I can't find the photo I snapped of Garrett during his swim lessons during the Summer. It is driving me crazy. I have left a spot for it...hoping it surfaces. Brody looks at this album at least once a day. That in itself, makes the project so worth it!

It has been a great month. If the rest of our 2011 looks anything like January, it is going to be an amazing year.

sums up the last week.

Here is a little glimpse of what our week has looked like.

Our family was hit hard and fast by a nasty little flu virus. I ended up with it. Happy to report that I am feeling much better today. Not a 100 percent better... but much better. 5 out of the 6 of us came down with it. Knocking on wood that John remains healthy.

a summer tradition

Our summer would not be complete without a visit from the cousins. Malakai, Kannon, & Jace came to stay with us for a few days! What's a few more boys? It is a yearly tradition that we look forward to. The boys always have so much fun together. I was online looking for fun activities to create with all of the boys while they were here. I found recipes for things like "Make your own slime" & sidewalk paint. They kept themselves so busy this year that we didn't get to any of that. They had a great time. I enjoyed watching them play, laugh, wrestle & behave like a bunch of energetic boys.

I met my sister in Fairfield(the half way point) on Wednesday to grab the boys.

We headed home with a packed car. The music was bumping :-)! Tanner has become quite the backseat DJ. He is always making sure that I have the music loud enough & that all of the songs are appropriate :-)! It was fun to listen to them belt out the songs they love. We made it home & enjoyed a yummy taco dinner. After dinner we headed to the FOUNTAINS to get frozen yogurt at BIG SPOON. The boys LOVE BIG SPOON. You create your own...yogurt, toppings & all.

While enjoying our Yogurt, we headed over to the Fountains to enjoy the music & watch the colorful fountains squirt water to the beat of the music.

Gee, do you think these boys have Moms who take photos -LOL?
I told them I wanted to take a picture of them & this is how they posed :-)

We started our Thursday off with waffles, strawberries, & whip cream. Each time I made breakfast, lunch or dinner, I felt like I was feeding a small army.

We enjoyed the cement slides today. I was happy to see last years grafitti was gone. Thank you, city of Roseville.

Brody was big enough to ride down on the cardboard all by himself. He was all smiles each time he slid down.

The slides wore the boys out. They spent an hour running up the stairs & sliding down. There were many competitive races down when the older boys were sliding. We LOVE this park & need to remember to visit it more often.

After the slides, we went home & the boys kept themselves busy with baseball games out front, many rounds of the card game SPEED, water balloon fights, & even some down time.

For dinner, we picked up some pizza & headed over to the local water park. Do you sense a theme of the cousin visit? I let these boys play hard all day so they'll sleep really well @ night :-). It seems to work in my favor at the end of the day.

We ended the night with a silly string war in the front yard.

We spent Friday at Lake Tahoe with our family & friends! We had so much fun! The boys caught crayfish by the bucketfuls, they played football in the lake, they swam, built a few sand castles, had their lunch on the shore & they went boogie boarding. Not the kind of boogie boarding like we enjoy in the ocean, but none the less, they called in boogie boarding & had a blast.

Whew!!! I am tired just typing about our activities over the last three days. The boys went home this morning, bright & early. We loved having them. We are already looking forward to next summer when the cousins can visit again.

I am exhausted & need a nap. See ya!

still here...

life has been super busy & super crazy. Life & boys have kept us on our toes.
I have misplaced the cord to my camera & it is driving me crazy. I have looked everywhere & have not had any luck finding it. Any ideas as to where I should look next? I am really hoping that I didn't leave it on the bumper of the Tahoe again. I did that once & made it all the way to the grocery store. I found the cord sitting on the bumper when I went to get Brody's stroller out of the back. I must have been driving super slow that day :-).

I have a hard time blogging w/out photos... I have so much to share.
Wish me luck finding that cord! Hope everyone is happy & well.

long time no post. It has been a busy week. I have been running around getting ready for our annual trunk or treat party. There is nothing like throwing a party for 200 (plus) of your closest friends-lol. Talk about overwhelming.Lots of running around today trying to tie up some loose ends. I took the boys to the pumpkin patch yesterday after school. We were pleasantly surprised to see that there were still pumpkins left. We have never gone this late in the month.

Needless to say, we had an awesome time. We fed the farm animals, jumped in the hay bounce,

mined for marbles,

went down the HUGE bumpy slide, smiled for Carter has he took @ least 100 photos (where do you think he learned that?),

picked pumpkins,

& had hot dogs for dinner. We had a great time. We all woke up with a few mosquito bites-uughhh! carter has one smack dab in the middle of his forehead. i keep telling him not to scratch it...we have a family photo shoot for our Christmas card photos this Saturday! That is all we need for the perfect photo, one huge scab in the middle of that boys forehead. Pray for no scratching.
We carved our pumpkins after making it home from the patch.

The boys did an awesome job designing their own faces. Dad helped them cut them out.

They turned out pretty cute. Brody kept trying to eat the pumpkins. Or maybe he was trying to kiss them...who knows??? It was funny.

Stayed tuned for trunk or treat photos tomorrow night.
