Soccer Saturday & Cub Scout Update

It seems like I just posted about the boys soccer games... the week goes by way too fast. here we go again! Both boy's teams won their games yesterday! YEAH!!! They are still both undefeated. YEAH! Tanner scored two goals & Carter scored two too! Tanner's team won 6-2 & Carter's team won 6-0 (I think), I know they won! I missed Carter's game due to Tanner's game. It was fun to have Aunt Petra there & our niece Jeneca. We are enjoying the season & looking forward to a week off in a few weeks.
In other news, Tanner moved up a rank in Cub Scouts. He completed all of his Wolf requirements. He will now be working on his Bear. He also earned a few Arrow Points. Way to go Tanner! We are so proud of him!
Have a great Sunday

Field Trip

Garrett enjoyed his first field trip of the school year. This months field trip was to the health & safety fair. We had a blast. We got to ride the train, blow bubbles, have snacks, sit in the ambulance, enjoy some gymnastics, meet Smokey the Bear, see the dogs from the Canine unit, sit on tractors & motorcycles, & much more. Garrett had a great time running around with his pal T. Looking forward to next years fair (this was my 4th time attending & will enjoy it @ least 3 more times - GRIN).

Tagged

My cousin Katie tagged me!

Where did you meet your husband? I met him @ a church activity.

What was the first thing you said to him? I have no clue, maybe HI!

Where was your first date? Our first official date (mind you we had been friends for while & went out in groups of friends) was to Tony Roma's for dinner & then we went to a movie. It was a chick flick & John had heard me mention that I wanted to see it. I forgot to mention that there were a dozen red roses waiting for me when I got home from work that day. So sweet & so thoughtful! He scored major points. There was a note telling me he'd see me @ 7 pm. What I didn't realize was that he had one red rose removed from the dozen & showed up on my porch with the 12th rose. It was very sweet & romantic. After the date he told me how he felt about me & that he loved me.

Where was your first kiss? In my parents family room after a movie.

How long did you date? Almost a year. We even dated while I was in Utah/LA working.

Did you have a long or short engagement? Not too long. We got engaged on the last day in Feb. & were married in September. About 7 months.

Where did you get engaged? We went to dinner @ Margaritaville (Mexican food) in Capitola. Went for a walk along the beach & then he proposed. He got down on one knee & asked me to marry him.

Where were you married? The Oakland Temple

How did the reception go? Great! It was fun! Tons of family & friends. It was a great day! Could have not been better!

Where did you honeymoon? We didn't take a honeymoon right away. We did spend the night @ the Fairmont Hotel. We were both in school full time & working full time. We went to Hawaii almost exactly a year later. We count that as our honeymoon.

**This is easy to do! I can't wait to read your answers. I am tagging Free, Stephanie, Amy, Jamie, Camie, Keri, Lisa, Julianne, Laurie, Lizzie, Annie & Amber (it can be your first blog post Amber). Have fun!

It's Me!

Garrett is loving preschool. He is excited to share his preschool masterpieces with us. We love that he has something that is just for him. He has watched the older boys go to school for years. Now that it is his turn...he is all smiles & talks about school all of the time. He came home with this work of art last week & the title reads "It's Me".

MY SPACE

Did you think I was talking about the Internet space MY SPACE - LOL? I am talking about MY SPACE in a house full of boys/men. The 4Th bedroom in our home is where MY SPACE is. MY SPACE is my scrapbook room. A few people have asked to see my scrapbook room... so here is a glimpse. This is just one side of the room. The other walls of the room have places/cubby's to store things (paper, embellishments, mini books, paints etc...) This is where I store all of my scrapbook stuff. This is where I work on projects for our family albums & work related things. I love my scrapbook room. I love that everything has a place (When I put it back in the right place that is) & for the most part it is organized. I love that if I am in the middle of a project but need to stop & do something else, I can leave it out right where it is & I'll I have to do is shut the door. When we moved out of our last apartment before moving into our home, John was shocked at all the places I had my scrapbook stuff. While living in the apartment, I would shove my stuff where ever there was space. Everyone's closet had a little of Moms stuff in them and I even had things hiding under the beds. I love that it is all now contained to one room(on most days). I love MY SPACE!

Soccer Saturday

Hang with me! I am a few days behind on the BLOG. I want to record info from the soccer games so I will have the stats for the boys scrapbooks. Another Saturday, another round of soccer games. The weather was chilly & it even rained on us during Tanner's game. I am so grateful for Julie & her huge umbrella(thanks Julie). She kept Brody & I dry. The ref's didn't show up for Tanner's game so John jumped in & reffed the game. He was drenched, poor guy! Both teams are still undefeated & doing really well. Carter's team won 7 to 0. Carter scored 3 goals & enjoyed the game. Tanner's team won 4-2. Tanner scored 3 of those goals. Tanner played forward during the first half & then sat the first part of the 2nd half. The other team scored two goals in the second half so coach put Tanner back in & told him to score one more goal. The boy did what he was told & put us ahead by two. John & I love to watch our boys play soccer. It is so exciting. They love it & it is always a great game to watch. I'll leave you with a picture of Carter & his best pal J.
