Christmas Cards & A Holiday Give Away

Oh my goodness! We received our first Christmas card in the mail yesterday. My friend Kathy is on the ball. I love receiving Christmas cards with updated family photos. This is ONE of my favorite parts of the holiday season. I stalk the mail carrier-LOL. I look forward to each & every card(this is a BIG hint to you if you are reading my blog :). Don't forget to put me on your Christmas Card list. What is your favorite part/tradition during the Christmas season? Leave a comment & I will have the boys draw a name in the next couple of days. If your name is drawn, I'll send you a surprise in the mail.
Have a great day!

Deck the Halls

Okay, this is the only thing I have decked so far :) & it is not even complete. A few of you have asked to see the stockings I made for my family a year or so ago. These are Primitive stockings, a little rough around the edges. I don't sew, so I am very proud of these (Can I say that?) I even made an extra one, not knowing whether or not we would be having any more children. I am so glad I made an extra one. Now I don't have to stress over making one more. My friend is going to put Brody's name on his & then we'll hang it with the rest. These stockings hang in our entry way & are more for decoration purposes. We have stockings that hang in the family room & Santa fills those. I had my father in law stitch vinyl pockets on the stockings & I have placed pictures of each of us with Santa. Then the pictures can be changed from year to year (or not). Putting these up tonight makes me want to get the rest of our stuff out. One more week! Have you decked your house out yet?

Weekend update!

We have had a great weekend! I hit the road @ 3:30 am on Friday morning & started my shopping. By 8:00 am, I had been to JC Penny, Babies r Us, Old Navy, Wal*Mart, Target, & Green Tangerines. I scored some major deals & had fun with all of the other crazy shoppers in town. Shopping on black Friday has been a tradition since we have been married. I sure do miss shopping with my sister Amber. I did call her @ 6:45 am to see what deals she had scored many miles away! She was done & heading back to bed. The boys enjoyed a fun play date with some friends & then we took them to a great Pizza joint in town. They had a great time bowling, riding the rides. playing games & eating all of the pizza & treats their tummies could hold. We spent today doing laundry, making Christmas cards & running some errands. I am anxious to put up all of my Christmas decorations but can't until the ward Christmas party is over. I am using our tree as part of the decorations. I will have to wait one more week. John is probably thankful for that extra week. Enjoy!

Soccer Saturday

This will be the last soccer Saturday post until next season. We enjoyed Tanner & Carter's last games of the season today! Both teams finished the season undefeated-WOOT -WOOT! The DYNOMITE team rocked the field! We were short a few players so most of them played the entire game. They were tired but did really well. The final score was 4 to 0. Carter scored three goals today. The other teams parents/coaches kept telling their players to watch out for & to stay on #21 (that would be Carter). Tanner did not feel good today. He insisted on playing his last game. He defended the goal for a while & did well. He kept the other team from scoring. He was not in full force today but tried his hardest. He scored a goal & the SWORDS ended up winning 2 to 0. We are so proud of our boys & of all of the boys on both teams! We love to watch them on the field.

P.S. I love Carter's red soccer cleats. I can find him anywhere on the field. Red is still his favorite color. A boy after my own heart!

6 months old

Brody is 6 months old today! At six months he:
-weighs 20lbs. 11 oz. (yes that is why we call him baby moose)
- is eating solids once a day.
- is learning to like the green vegetables
- is wearing a size three diaper.
- is starting to drink 8 oz. bottles
- is all over the place.
- is rolling all over
- is trying real hard to crawl & is almost there (needds to figure out the hands)!
- is wearing 12-18 months clothes
- has his first cold, it's a doosey (sp?) now has asthma
- is enjoying his jump-a-roo
- is a blankie boy, loves all of his blankets (just like the other 3 boys)
- giggles all the time.
- is very ticklish
- is still a little wobbly when sitting on his own.
- just got into sitting position own his own (from his knees) as I typed this entry, then he quickly fell backwards.
-will enjoy his first Thanksgiving.
-he still falls asleep in our arms, I love this!

Tanner just commented this morning about how much fun it is to have a baby in the house. Tanner, Carter, & Garrett really do love having another brother. I have to totally agree with Tanner. I say this all the time... but it is true, Brody is a delight to have in our family & we are so glad he is ours.

One more thing to check off my list! I completed 12 mini soccer albums for Carter & his team mates. John coached Carter's team this season. We wanted to do something fun & personalized for each boy. Another Mom on the team took about 200 photos @ each game & would upload them to Costco. Each parent was asked to give me 10-15 photos of their son. From there I was able to create a book for each boy. It was fun to watch the boys flip thru their books. We had a fun team party @ the local pizza joint tonight. The boys received their trophies, mini albums, had pizza, cake, cookies, & they played video games. Stephanie (our team Mom) did a great job planning all of the details. Thanks Steph! You hard work was so appreciated this season! Thank you to the whole team for the gift card to Strikes & the great team Plaque for John! It has been an awesome team & an awesome season.

Another Soccer Saturday! Tanner & Carter's teams are still undefeated. Tanner has had an amazing season. He scored three goals today in the first half. We love to watch this boy play soccer. He is fast. He plays hard. He loves the game. He enjoys playing with his friends. He played forward for the first half & was goalie the 2nd half. Our team has played so well this season. Way to go Swords.

Carter had a great game too! They won! Carter scored two goals-woot woot.

Both boys had Grandpa Hans down at the net with them today. He was giving them pointers. They loved it. They both have one game left & our fingers are crossed that the teams will remain undefeated. Good luck boys!

This ones for the GIRLS

I had many titles for this post running thru my mind. I am settling on this one! Min hosted a fun farewell brunch/visit to see Lorelie off. They will be moving in a few short days. Min is the hostess with the mostess. We all know that there will be a feast waiting for us. She made her YUMMY egg rolls, lettuce wraps etc... thanks Min. We all know not to eat before we come. It was a fun morning just visiting & enjoying one another. It makes me sad to see their family moving. But at the same time I am so HAPPY for them. It sure will be nice for all of them to be in the SAME state, at the same time again. They are such a sweet family who will be missed terribly. We wish you all of the bet Lor & are looking forward to family updates.

Peas & we have a WINNER!

We tried peas yesterday! Brody did really well. There were a few funny faces that made us all laugh. He also enjoyed his first swing ride today. He loved swinging back & forth in the baby swing in the backyard. Thanks Lisa :) He stayed in the swing for about 30 minutes.

We have a winner! And the winner is....Lisa P.. She guessed the # of steps & that is the right answer. John brought home a pedometer from work & I thought I would try it out on Friday. By 2 pm, I had taken 2, 323 steps. I would have clocked more except that the pedometer fell off without me knowing while making the bed & I stepped on it. OOPS. Way to go Lisa! I will get your prize to you! Thanks for playing!

On the Move!

This is what I witnessed while changing the sheets on our bed last Friday! He had backed himself up against the wall. Being the smart baby that he is, he decided to go forward. He got up on all fours & rocked. He is still trying to figure out the hand thing. He is on the move & I don't think I am ready!

Give Away & the # 2,323

It is time for another fun give away! I am not sure what I am giving away, but it will be fun! Are you ready to play? Here is a little fun fact/tidbit about my life right now.

Here are your choices.

a. Raimi has taken 2,323 pictures in 2007.
b. Raimi has $2,323.00 in her checking acct. as of Nov. 1.
