Walking School bus!

This was a great event put on by the school! A walking school bus is a group of children walking to school with one or more adults. There was a map at school this week & you could find out where the walking school bus would stop in your neighborhood. There were hundreds of children walking to school today. It was so cool to be a part of it. Our boys have been looking forward to this all week. At the bus stop they received a bracelet that would get them into a special assembly once they made it to school. Brody, Garrett, & I had fun walking to school with Tanner & Carter & their friends. It was a huge success & we hope they do it again!
P.S. I was trying to take pictures while pushing Garrett & Brody in the stroller. A few might be blurry & not in the best lighting. I was just happy to capture the moment!

I love these slide shows! So do all my friends at work. This one makes me think of being able to walk to school by myself. One of the few wonderful things children don't get to experience anymore. We never had to be fearful, could experience independence and be alone with our own thoughts. They do look like they're having fun though!

I agree. That was so much fun this morning. My boys had a blast! I didn't think to grab my camera. I couldn't believe how many people walked to school today. I imagine more than half of the kids walked today. I hope they do it again, too!
